This year, Heart & Stroke canvassing will look a little different, but the
goal is the same: Beat heart disease and stroke. Now’s your chance to connect with your community in a
new way, and share lifesaving information. When we beat as one, we accomplish so much more together!
Our shared goal to beat heart disease and stroke is urgent. These diseases remain the #1 killer globally, and two of the three leading causes of death in Canada. You can help save more lives and beat stroke—register to fundraise in Stroke Month this June.
When you fundraise online, more of that money goes directly to research — and that means more
lives saved.
Payments can be accepted by credit card, and tax receipts are issued immediately.
You can make a big difference with the device you’re using right now!
Feel inspired by the life-saving funds raised by our top fundraisers in February for Heart Month. Start making a difference today for Stroke month.

When you donate online, you will receive your official tax receipt
via email immediately. If you do not receive your tax receipt, please reach
out to fundraiseyourway@heartandstroke.ca to request a new one.
Heart & Stroke adheres to CRA guidelines and must account for all tax
receipts that have been printed and distributed which is difficult to
do when in the hands of thousands of volunteers. Interim tax receipts
allow for strong tax receipt control, tracking, and reporting.
We’d be happy to hear from you! Please contact us via email at
fundraiseyourway@heartandstroke.ca.
Please check out the Our Impact section to keep up to date and
learn more about how your dollars are making an impact.
We recommend calling or emailing any neighbours that you have contact information to
let them know that you will be fundraising for Heart & Stroke online only this year,
for their safety and their community, and that you will provide more details soon.
Encourage any neighbours you have spoken with by phone or email to let any of your
other neighbours know that you will be fundraising online this year.
Our supporters' safety and wellbeing is our highest priority. Given the increased
risk of the COVID-19 virus spreading when people are exposed to others, we are
taking precautions in all of the communities we serve.
Heart & Stroke is always evaluating our programs to ensure they deliver the most
impact on our mission. Right now, we don't know what the Heart & Stroke canvass
campaign will look like in 2022 but we know that online fundraising is here to
stay. When you fundraise online, more of that money goes directly to research
— and
that means more lives saved. Payments can be accepted by credit card, and tax
receipts are issued immediately. You can make a big difference with the device
you’re using right now!

Dear [Donor Name],
Your donation to my Heart & Stroke fundraiser means so much to me. Thank you for your
incredible support.
Heart & Stroke has already made huge strides in the fight against heart disease and
stroke. And your donation helps to fund 891 researchers whose breakthroughs could save
lives and improve outcomes of survivors.
Researchers such as:
Dr. Yu Tian Wang, who is working on drugs that could save your brain cells after a
stroke.
Dr. Guillaume Paré, who is working on the ACE2 protein receptor, which plays an
important role in both heart and brain health
Dr. Richard Swartz, who is has launched an international study of COVID-19 survivors
to help understand the cognitive impacts of the virus
These studies are urgently needed right now. With the pandemic, donations and funding
for lifesaving research have never been at greater risk.
Plus, those with these conditions are at higher risk for complications, and death, if
they contract COVID-19.
With your donation, Heart & Stroke can keep making a real difference. Together, we’ll
beat heart disease and stroke.
Gratefully yours,
