Coronavirus (COVID-19) Update

In this difficult and challenging time, we must act to take care of each other and our community. As such, it is with a heavy heart that we have made the decision to cancel the Hockey Heroes Weekend 2020 in the following three locations:

  • Halifax, April, 24th to 26th
  • Saskatoon, May, 1st to 3rd
  • St John’s, May 22nd to 24th

We understand that there will be many questions from everyone, and we appreciate your patience as we work through the details. We will continue to update you through our website and Facebook event page over the coming weeks.

Our first priority is the health and safety of all of you, our Hockey Heroes Weekend players, the NHL alumni, and our sponsors, spectators, special guests, volunteers, employees and partners.

If you or a loved one are living with heart disease or stroke, we invite you to read this article about Coronavirus, heart disease and stroke.

Thank you for your continued support today and every day. See you on the ice soon!

Hockey Heroes Weekend is a beloved event, one we all look forward to every year; it is also the largest fundraising event for each of the Heart & Stroke communities in which it takes place.

This is a very challenging time for organizations across the country, including Heart & Stroke. We are reviewing all our fundraising events and postponing or cancelling many across the country, which will significantly impact our revenues for the year. We also know that many people in Canada are facing similar financial difficulties because of the COVID-19 outbreak.

More than ever, those seeking urgent medical attention for heart disease or stroke need our community’s support to ensure our experts are providing treatment and that medical resources are available to them.

We are so grateful to those who are able to support us during this difficult time. If you wish to make a donation today, please choose a location:

Our heartfelt thanks for your support, together we can continue to promote health, save lives and enhance recovery for those living with heart conditions and the effects of stroke.
