Where is the Congress being held?

The 2019 Canadian Stroke Congress will be held in Ottawa at the Shaw Centre.

How can I register for the Congress?

Online registration will open on May 14, 2019.

How do I become an exhibitor?

To become an exhibitor, visit the Sponsorship page.

How do I obtain my Certificate of Attendance?

Attendees will receive an email invitation to complete a congress evaluation, which will lead to a customized Certificate of Attendance. You will need to retain your badge insert for your records.

Submissions Close

The Call for Abstracts will close April 30, 2019 11:59 EST. No Extensions will be granted.

Multilingual Submissions

Abstracts may be submitted in English or French and presentations at Congress may be given in either language.

Multiple submissions

Multiple submissions are allowed by the same author.

Author Maximum

There is a 30-author maximum per abstract submission.

Abstract Body

Each abstract should be a maximum of 250 words (excluding title and authors) and should consist of four separate paragraphs:

  • 1. Background: briefly describe the problem or issue being addressed
  • 2. Methods: describe how the study was performed
  • 3. Results: describe the salient results or findings
  • 4. Conclusions: describe what the authors conclude from these results


Uploaded graphics are allowed. Only ONE table or graph upload is allowed per abstract. File size is limited to 5mb and JPEG only. Uploads can be made on the specified upload page in submission

Saving your Submission

Your submission is saved each time you complete a page in submission. At anytime while the submission site is open you may edit your abstract

Submission Email Confirmation

Each time an abstract is finalized, the system automatically sends out an email notification to the Presenting Author and any other author that has been designated as a correspondent. If you did not receive your email confirmation, please check your spam box and be sure that you have added as a safe sender in your email program. More details can be found here.

Meeting Dates and Location

The Congress will be held October 3-5, 2019 at the Shaw Centre in Ottawa, Ontario


The accepted abstracts will be published in the International Journal of Stroke Online, in early October, 2019.

Conflict of Interest Statement

All accepted presenters will be required to complete a Conflict of Interest declaration form. This includes all presenters for oral, poster and other formats. Conflict of interest must be completed in advance of presentation or presentation is subject to being cancelled.
