This will be my 9th year participating in the Ride for Heart. The cause has been near and dear to me ever since my father had heart surgery and a valve replacement several years ago, and thankfully he is alive and well today. My cousin had a a heart attack a few years back and he too is doing well today. In recent years a number of my friends and colleagues in the Simmons Foods family have been affected by heart disease or stroke. Most recently a good friend's mother had bypass surgery and is currently recovering. Another dear friend's father also had bypass surgery recently and is currently recovering. I will be thinking of all of them as I ride 75 km along the Gardiner and DVP on June 7th in support of the Heart & Stroke foundation.
For more than 60 years, The Heart & Stroke foundation has been dedicated to fighting heart disease and stroke. Their work has saved thousands of people’s lives and improved life for millions of others. You probably run into someone every day who is alive and well thanks to the countless people who have supported this cause with their time and donations.
Your donation will directly improve the lives of Canadians through preventing disease, saving lives and promoting recovery.
