This will be my 7th year participating in Ride for Heart with the Heart & Stroke Foundation. I do it to help scientists figure out why my Mom had two heart attacks, and three strokes 25 years ago, resulting in the loss of not just her legs, but what was our normal before that went down. It’s a big loss but the silver lining is she’s still here and I’m grateful for that.
Special for this year, I'll also be riding with and for my incredibly supportive partner Andre Lowy, who overcame (with the doting love, worry, and support of his parents) major heart altercations when he was just a few months old.
And now, more than ever, I ride because we all have the same colour heart and we must learn to beat as one.
