As most of you know, heart disease runs in my family, making it a cause very close to me. My dad's side of the family has been significantly impacted by heart disease, and every bit of research we can fund will help save lives.
In addition to this personal connection, I have the privilege of working at the Heart & Stroke Foundation, leading the Community Engagement portfolio - which includes the Ride for Heart. As a result of COVID-19, we have been working tirelessly to transition to a virtual event in order to continue supporting life-saving research - especially as we are learning that people living with heart disease and stroke are at an increased risk of becoming very ill and dying if they contract COVID-19, and emerging data confirms the virus can damage an otherwise healthy heart and impact the brain. Funding for research is more critical than ever!
You can help those at greater risk due to COVID-19 and your donation will help fund life-saving research breakthroughs. I would love your support while participating in the first-ever Manulife Heart & Stroke Virtual Ride for Heart.
