Surprise, surprise! 3rd year of doing this. It's been a great kickstart to my fitness, hopefully making me less prone to what this foundation is trying to fight. Maybe at this point, it's actually becoming a tradition! I started doing it as a kickstarter to my better health journey... to be more active and boy did it work! I started commuting to work several times a week on my bike (over 20km each way!) and riding with some friends and it then became my gateway drug into triathlons!
But then it also became a little more personal as someone very close to me went through open heart surgery in 2019 so it's now even less about my health but mostly about all those people at risk and those affected by heart disease as well. With my family history of heart disease, it hits home and I want to do my part by helping a great cause!
