UPDATE - June 8, 2020.
With my family joining me for the first part of my ride yesterday, I was inspired to do a little extra, and ended up completing an 82.85km ride, by far my longest since my back injury in 2016.
Thank you so much to all my sponsors. With your generosity, we exceeded not only my original $1,000 fundraising target for Heart & Stroke Canada but my huge stretch goal of $2,500 as well. Every donor will receive a digital photo of my social distancing beard as promised!
Unfortunately, Team Manulife is still at only 26% of our overall fundraising goal. If you have been sitting on the fence on donating it is not too late - donations can still be made until the end of June (or any time of year to Heart and Stroke Canada directly).
Thank you again for your amazing support!
With the cancellation of the organized 2020 Manulife Heart & Stroke Ride for Heart group ride, and potential loss of much of the fundraising momentum for this flagship event which has raised over $70 million in much needed funds for the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Canada since 1988, I felt the need to step up.
The ride is still proceeding this year, but on a "from home" basis - I will be riding 75km in June to support this cause.
Please donate today to help Heart and Stroke:
Empower Canadians to prevent disease through positive changes
Save lives the moment a health emergency strikes
Promote recovery, where and when it is needed
Thank you - every little bit helps Canadians live longer, fuller lives.
