** For the month of November, my good friend Chris O'Donnell joined me on the daily run, and helped raise money for HSF. It was even great to be able to run with him on a few of those days too.
I also another good friend, Jason Nagasawa, who joined me for a month's worth of running 5km per day. He started on November 22, and did an amazing job.
*** Watch out for something new in 2022!
My name is Andy Wilson, and beginning on January 1st, 2021, I will begin my journey and challenge by running a minimum of 5km per day, for 365 days. That is a minimum total of 1825km (not including races), which is more than I have ever run in a full year.
It was in February of 2019, when we received the news that my Dad had died of a heart attack. He was out doing what he loved, being outdoors and being in the moment. He made a point to live life to its fullest, in the only way he knew how.
Recently, Dad's sister and my Aunt Vicki, also died from heart related complications. She is and was a very kind and gentle person, who loved to laugh and spend her time with friends and family. I am now running for both Dad and Vicki, throughout my year-long journey.
Yes I will be running every day for a full year, but this is less about me and more about my want to help provide as many resources as I can, and to help raise money for Heart & Stroke, to assist with their next research breakthrough. The donations I raise will support initiatives in my community that promote health, save lives, and enhance recovery.
If you see me out running through the streets of Ottawa, a quick hello, a cheer, or even if you want to join me, would be more than appreciated. You are also welcome to follow me through my social media channels, where I will be updating my progress throughout the year.
I thank you in advance for any support you are able to give.
